A week ago we identified our first "Priority" states. We've modified that list slightly. New Mexico has been taken off the priority list. Despite all our early research—including the New Mexico Secretary of State's website as well as a listing of ballot access requirements compiled by the National Association of Secretaries of State—it appears that New Mexico does not allow write-in votes for president.
Because this appears to contradict New Mexico state election law, we've contacted the Secretary of State for a clarification. Since we have not yet heard back from them and their deadline is June 30, we are presuming that New Mexico is a no-go for us and are turning our attention elsewhere.
Indiana is now the state we are focusing on. If you know of anyone who would like to serve as a NOTA elector in Indiana, please contact us immediately. Our filing needs to be in the mail by week's end.
